Marathon Gaming…

Okay, we just had an hour-long game of Text Twist and ended up with a final score of 101,780. Considering we had never done better than 25,000, we were pretty happy.

The kids have been upstairs playing Playstation 2, mainly the Nicktoons UNITE! game.

Getting ready for 2007

Hope everyone out there had a Merry Christmas! We’ve been preparing for our New Year’s Eve party this weekend.  And of course, the Mountaineers play their bowl game this Monday.

I’ve been playing the 360 a little bit lately.  Hopeful to play more this long weekend.  Allison (and Mommy) got me Need For Speed: Carbon for Christmas and I’ve barely gotten started.  (Hey, I am 1% complete! Yeeha!)

I’ve gone to two movies in the past week.  One last Friday, one this Friday.  Pretty unusual for me.  We went to see The Nativity Story last week and Rocky Balboa this week.  Both movies were quite good.  I will never picture the nativity scene the same way in my mind again after seeing that movie.

Well, I’m off to bed soon.  Have a great weekend!

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

Merry Christmas! We’ve been visiting with relatives and friends the past few days and been over-eating all along the way. I’ve got a few new pictures to post. I’ve got a couple new ones of Allison and Ryan lighing candles at church and better shots of them on Santa’s lap.

2007 is almost here. Time just flies by. I found an old episode of MTV’s “Remote Control” that I used to watch regularly in the late 80’s:

Have a Merry Christmas!

Windows 95 Launch

Soon, Windows Vista will be released to the world — more than ten years after the most important product in desktop computer history — Windows 95.

Windows 95 LaunchWindows 95 was a crucial product for Microsoft.  It proved that they were able to build upon on existing product base and make serious improvements in usability.  It was the foundation for the Windows base for the next several years, and it also showed the industry how to successfully market a high-tech product to the masses.

Needless to say, the push behind Windows 95 was huge.  History shows it was an extremely successful product, allowing the personal computer desktop market to grow by leaps and bounds during the next several years.

Of course since that time there have been several Windows releases, and most of them have had some kind of marketing product “Launch” but none of them have been quite as large as Windows 95.  So, here are some photos of my trip to Pittsburgh on August 24, 1995, for the launch of Windows 95.

A Simple test

Hey, this is just me poking around on my new phone… Let’s see if this works…

The big man in the red suit

Allison and Ryan got to have a chat with Santa Claus himself tonight at church.

Ryan showed Santa his cast.  Both of them told Santa what they wanted for Christmas.

If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes

Well, this is certainly an interesting snapshot:

From weather.com at 11:45am EST on Dec 1, 2006

Look at that 30 degree difference between Charleston, WV and Cincinnati, OH.  Unreal!

I enjoy the warmer weather.  This morning on wunderground.com the temperature in the area was 73 degrees, and the heat index was 77.  Heat Index! On December 1! Unreal!

Ok, well two “unreals” is enough for this post.  Hope you succeed in dodging the snow!
