On this page, I will share with you “A Few of My Favorite Things.”

“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” is the best work of science fiction/comedy ever written. If you’re trying to decide if you should just watch the movie–don’t. At least not first. Read the book.

If you like dry, British humor (ala Monty Python) or even Mel Brooks’ films, you will enjoy reading this book.  In the stories, you will follow Arthur Dent, a simple carbon-based life-form, not entirely unlike us.  But some very extraordinary things happen to this ordinary man.  If you’ve ever wanted to know the meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything, or are even remotely interested in hearing God’s Final Message to His Creation, then this book is for you.

Just a few words of advice before reading this book:

1) Drink a good, decent, strong cup of properly prepared British tea before reading. (Be careful not to scald the milk!)

2) Bring a towel.

3) Don’t Panic!

So, I started making a favorite movie list, and decided that one list simply wasn’t enough. So, in list number one, I’ve got Airplane!, The Jerk, Back to the Future, Idiocracy, Spaceballs, Office Space, and The Replacements. As you can tell, I like comedies.

I guess you could call this list More Comedies. There are a few science fictiony things in there, but basically comedies. I have Groundhog Day, The Matrix, And Now For Something Completely Different , Ghostbusters, Austin Powers, WarGames, and The Truman Show. Mostly older movies, I notice. I think it takes a little time to crystalize in my mind as a “classic.”

This is a list of shows that have made their way from TV to DVD. Essentially, I’ve got V, American Idol, The Joe Schmo Show, Saturday Night Live, and Heroes. And derivatives thereof. A couple of notables are V and The Joe Schmo Show. V was a nice science fiction story from the 80′s that was really hi-tech for its time. And the birth of that half-alien baby is still awesome! On The Joe Schmo Show, reality TV is turned on its head… They did do a season two of that show, but season one is better.
